Dear friends,

We know this election cycle has been divisive and tiring, and yet, there is an incredible opportunity for trauma-informed advocacy to bring about healing.

Our next CTIPP CAN meeting will walk through a storytelling framework as we prepare our 2025 advocacy efforts.

Through networking and resource sharing, we'll discuss why effectively sharing stories is one of the most powerful advocacy tools, particularly when multiple people and organizations work together. We will review our advocacy targets and build momentum to create change in the year ahead and beyond.

  • Our October 2024 CTIPP CAN helped trauma-informed advocates develop their policymaking agenda as we move into a new Congress and state/local legislative session in 2025. Through networking and resource-sharing, we discussed strategies to help move communities out of the cycle of patchwork policy and toward holistic solutions. We also explored how best to target decision-makers in favor of trauma-informed policymaking.
    • This is the second CTIPP CAN of a four-month series focused on education, networking, and resource-sharing.
  • What's involved with forming, operating, and commissioning a Transformational Resilience Coordinating Network (TRCN)? Watch part 1 and part 2 of our Community of Practice (CoP) to learn how to prevent and heal climate-generated health and psychosocial problems to build mental wellness and transformational resilience in your community.

  • Across the nation, Transformational Resilience Coordinating Networks (TRCNs) are developing and implementing community-led strategies that help people remain healthy and resilient as the climate-ecosystem-biodiversity (C-E-B) crisis escalates. Join our UN High Level Climate Champion “Race to Resilience” Initiative to build mental wellness and transformational resilience in your community.

  • Urge Congress to support the Community Mental Wellness and Resilience Act (S. 1452 and H.R. 3073), which would help communities proactively develop local strategies to build population-level resilience by planning for and responding to the mental health challenges caused by disasters and toxic stress.

  • Urge Congress to support the RISE from Trauma Act (S. 1426 and H.R. 4541), which would expand the trauma-informed workforce in schools, healthcare settings, social services, first responders, and the justice system and increase community resources to address the impact of trauma.

  • TOOLKIT: Free resources to help you urge Congress to support trauma-informed federal legislation.

  • Do you know someone who is already advocating for trauma-informed policies and practices or who would be an awesome addition to the movement? Encourage them to join CTIPP’s Community Advocacy Network today!
