Happy September!

From growing political division and poor health outcomes to economic instability and rising suicide rates, our nation and world are at a critical junction in history. CTIPP CAN is launching a new program format for September - December 2024 to meet the moment through trauma-informed advocacy to build hope, healing, and transformational resilience.

We invite you to join to develop connection and skills, provide feedback on our materials, and continue to build the movement to prevent trauma and foster transformational resilience. Participants will engage in consistent networking, resource-sharing, and educational opportunities to integrate trauma-informed approaches to advocacy while we promote trauma-informed policies and practices.

The first call of this series will be on September 18th, and from there, the first Wednesday of each month will offer office hours with CTIPP Executive Director Jesse Kohler (optional), and the third Wednesday will feature a presentation, reflection, breakout groups, and discussion through the end of the year (we highly encourage joining all four months).

  • Our August 2024 CTIPP CAN call discussed why “traditional” community change models fall short and how trauma-informed engagement can build capacity and lasting change. We also shared wisdom and learnings from communities engaged with trauma-informed efforts and provided time for discussion, reflection, and networking.
  • New commentary on trauma-informed sports from athlete and advocate Lilah Drafts-Johnson! The Next Step in Youth Sport Safeguarding? Trauma-Informed Approaches to Sport provides practical examples of trauma-informed approaches in sport coaching and demonstrate that trauma-informed sport isn’t just for people who have experienced trauma; it is an athlete- and strengths-based approach that can benefit people from all walks of life.
